Japanese Culture

Among many Japanese cultural things, I will introduce Wagashi, Japanese sweets, on today’s blog. I think you just know one place where Wagashi is famous. There is Kyoto. Nevertheless in general, there are the 3 most famous Wagashi places. There are Kyoto, Kanazawa and Matsue. I think you know Kyoto and Kanazawa in Ishikawa Prefecture. But do you know Matsue? In fact there is my home town!
There is Matsue Castle in my city. So especially in a castle city, it remains the traditional culture of green tea and sweet. Many local people sometimes enjoy drinking green tea and eating Wagashi. I also sometimes enjoy them.
Because Wagashi is famous, there are many Wagashi shops around the city. Among them I think “Saiundo” is one of the most famous shops in Matsue. Recently they try to sell Wagashi in New York, America. They made Wagashi for New Yorkers and got great success. This challenge was to make Wagashi be famous, especially Wagashi of Matsue. And the reason why they choose New York is that New York is the place of sending world information. This challenge was reported in some web sites in New York. The company also reports their challenge in their web page so please check it in Japanese. Their try will continue.

SHEEP in New Zealand!!

I searched about sheep in New Zealand. When it comes to New Zealand, maybe you guess sheep. I think sheep is a one of the most famous things in New Zealand. There are 4 million and 2 hundred thousand people in New Zealand. But there are 34 million sheep there. The number of sheep is 8 times as many as that of population. There are 11 thousand sheep in Japan, so you think that there are so many sheep in New Zealand. But in 1982, there were 2.8 times as many sheep as them at present. A lot of sheep were disappeared in the last 30 years. Because of environment deterioration and expansion of agriculture and dairy, 4 million and 3 hundred thousand sheep decreased last year. This survey was reported by an association named Meat and Wool New Zealand. That is a big problem for New Zealand.

Festival in the World

Today, I researched about the Harvest Festival in UK.

Harvest Festival is one of the oldest known festivals. Harvest is from the Anglo-Saxon word hærfest, "Autumn". It then came to refer to the season for reaping and gathering grain and other grown products. In the UK it is traditionally held on or near the Sunday of the Harvest Moon. This moon is the full moon around the time of the Autumn Equinox in September. Unlike the USA and Canada, the UK does not have a national holiday for Harvest Festival.

In England, they have given thanks for successful harvests since pagan times. They celebrate this day by singing, praying and decorating our churches with baskets of fruit and food in a festival known as 'Harvest Festival', usually during the month of September.

Harvest Festival reminds Christians of all the good things God gives them. This makes them want to share with others who are not so fortunate. In schools and in Churches, people bring food from home to a Harvest Festival Service. After the service, the food that has been put on display is usually made into parcels and given to people in need.

My favorite movies

Movies

Today, I would like to introduce you my favorite movie. The titles of the movie is “SPY KIDS”. What do you imagine when you hear spy-kids? At first, I explain about movies content easily.

Cortez’s family is a main character of the movie. Gregorio is a father, Ingrid is a mother, Carmen is a old sister, Juni is a young brother. At first sight, the family is general one. But in fact, parents were first-rate SPY! They start to work together after a long separation, but they were caught by enemy. Carmen and Juni go to rescue their parents.

In this story, Carmen and Juni flourish very much though they are kids. They couldn’t handle their weapons and didn’t do well. In addition to this, they don’t have good relationship, either. But finally, they grow up and have good relationship, and they can success to rescue their parents! That process which they become great spy makes me excited!

Alexa Vega play Carmen and Daryl Sabara play Juni. Thanks to their great play, I can enjoy the story more.

There are two more series, “SPY KIDS 2: The Island of Lost Dreams”, “SPY KIDS3-D Game Over”. All series are very interesting to watch. I especially recommend you to watching the first one “SPY KIDS”. I think man and woman of all ages can enjoy watching!

☆Exercises☆

Today, I would like to talk about exercises.There are a lot of exercises around us, for example, swimming, running, jogging and so on. I don't often do exercises so much, but I like to do skiing very much. I started to do skiing when I was 3 years old. It is very fun and exiting. I want to do in this winter. I recommend you to doing skiing! I really like to watch soccer games so much. I like to watch foreign soccer games and national Japanese team's games. I would like to watch the Olympic and World Cup games.
